Hey everyone! I took a moment to show just how easy Concrete5.5 is by taking a video of me posting a new blog on my personal website at http://anthonyfleming.net.
While working on launching my new personal blog site at anthonyfleming.net (shameless plug) I encountered a pleasant surprise; Concrete5.5 is out and ready to use! I've personally been excited for this for quite some time. At Widio we have been desiging for 2 separate systems: WordPress (for blogging) and Concrete5(.4 and under) for websites with a higher emphasis on marketing. Every once in a while we even take time designing for Blogger accounts. While we personally use Concrete5.4.2.2 for this Widio Blog, it isn't exactly "friendly" and easy for the average blogger. All that has changed in the new Concrete5.5!
Now, blogging is easier than ever! Perhaps even easier than WordPress or Blogger. Check out this video to see how the new editing interface looks and functions.
It will still be some time before we update all of our hosted systems to the new Concrete5.5. For anyone interested in setting up a blog/site, Concrete 5.5 is the system we will be using. Also, if you are one of our clients, let us know if you want to get upgraded quicker than our current timeline.
Faith Christian Church of Mauston needed another website for their upcoming youth conference called Crave. We got it done within about 2 days while working other projects. It came complete with a promo-pack sign up form, a facebook link, and a direct feed from their twitter. Also, Anthony Fleming (owner of Widio)is one of the speakers for the event! Check it out at http://craveconference.com
Buying a website can be a scary process. Essentially you are hiring someone to make something that does not materially exist. Its not like hiring a contractor to build a house where you can drive by everyday and see how things are going. Or is it? Let me introduce you to Your Construction Site: an online collaboration gateway between people like me (the developer) and the customer.
With Your Construction Site you will be able to log into your own private collaboration page where you can comment on our progress, easiliy send graphical feedback, download completed work, and view notes and updates from the developer or graphic artist on any project you hire us to do. You can also receive alerts the moment we make updates to your project via RSS feeds on your smartphone, tablet, or desktop.
Your Construction Site will launch on January 1, 2012.
